Tampico fiber is bristly white fiber taken from the leaves of the ixtle plant. It has good spring for its thickness and holds water well, making it excellent for washing and polishing. It is well suited for use as a brush material. It has weak tensile strength and breaks very easily. It is also weak against acid and alkaline solutions, causing it to deteriorate very easily. Usage limit: approx. 80°C.
